Security plays an important part in a data center
system because they often contain sensitive and secret informations, therefore a surveillance system must alert the system administrator in case of unauthorized intrusion, or any malfunction of equipment.
The 19" remote monitoring system from Alfaphonet is a Linux based real-time monitoring and management solution in order to secure flawless operation with high resiliency. The solution is used for IP monitoring and remote managements, or as a video server in premises and suit units in server rooms or telecommunication stations. With the user-friendly interface you can assign and locate sensors on map of certain object e.g office, in order to develop a particular interface, or to link user database with the data received from monitoring system to export data into CSV files. In addition, static and dynamic DNS for monitoring can be utilized. The monitoring system can also be used as a video server (via usb or web-cam) to transfer images and video files onto remote servers. It is possible to connect up to 8 analog, 40 digital, 16 dry contacts and up to 4 relay devices.
The available sensors that supplementing the monitoring system are:

In case there is need for additional sensors, the relay sensor unit can extend the Remote Monitoring

. The unit enables connections up to 8 analog sensors and up to 4 electric devices.
The proper and uninterrupted power supply is critical to the correct operation of a data center. The power distribution units supply with 250 Vac while the circuit breaker
system protects from overvoltages. The power distribution units vary in socket number and socket type. They can be either schuko type or IEC 320
for direct connection of PC units on them.
The preservation of a relatively low operating temperature inside the data center is imperative for its proper functioning. Alfaphonet datacenter IT cooling
solutions ensures maximum IT availability at minimum running costs. The power usage effectiveness in the datacenters indicates that approximately 45% of the total incoming power is utilised by cooling and cooling related equipment. There are three IT cooling solutions:
1. Twist air cooling with hot air removal - Twist Air is an airflow enhancer module, extremely compact, it was developed to be installed on the rear side of server rack enclosure. Twist Air assure a proper airflow through the servers (up to 3000 m3/h) to avoid hot spots. Twist Air action avoid servers malfunctioning and shut down related to high temperature issue.
2. Direct rack cooling (side cooler) - With the advent of blades and high-density server infrastructures, high heat emissions at certain specific points in the racks create hot spots which are impossible to cool down either by any conventional systems or even by some specific applications like cold-aisle solutions etc. To prevent such formations of hot spots, direct rack cooling is the ideal solution.The heat rejection can be handled by an existing chilled water system which eliminates the heat at source and saves a lot of money.
3. In row cooling (in a cold/hot aisle containment) - To serve for cooling and/or enhancing the cooling capacity of an cold aisle containment, In Row Coolers are utilised. The water chilled solution increases the cooling efficiency and can easily cope with thermal loads upto 30 kW. These units are situated in-between the racks and provide proper airflow paths by preventing exhaust air recirculating to IT equipment. The unit captures heat directly from the hot aisle and distributes cool air to the cold aisle. The heat rejection can be handled by an existing chilled water system. KVM switches are space saving and functional solution for a comfortable connection to Pcs, servers or KVM
installations in a 1U rack-mounting area by controling up to 256 computers. They have TFT screen with VGA/SVGA/XGA/SXGA Display mode and 19’’ control panel with break-proof non-reflective active matrix 15’’ LCD monitor, keyboard, touch-pad and optional built-in KVM or IP KVM switch
